Don't be saying things like, “I don't know what is going to happen.” It is the coach that makes things happen.

「何が起こるかわかんねえ」 じゃねえ。何かを起こすのが監督だ。

失敗をしたことのない優等生が管理職に就いても、どこか迫力に欠ける。自ら失敗に苦しんだ体験がないので、部下に注意をしても説得力がない。これでは部下がついていくはずがない。

Even if some very capable person who has never made a mistake should happen to get a position in management, he will be lacking drive in some way. Even if he warns the people under him, they won't be convinced because he hasn't had the experience of suffering from his own mistakes. You couldn't expect them to follow such a man.
